What You Need (from the trash or garden!):

  • Large pinecones OR dried corncobs

  • String or twine

  • Peanut butter (or alternative like lard/suet for allergy-friendly version)

  • Birdseed

  • A butter knife or spoon

  • A tray or shallow dish

Instructions (kid-friendly wording):

  1. Collect your pinecone or corncob. Make sure it's clean and dry!

  2. Tie a string around one end — this will let you hang it later.

  3. Spread peanut butter all over the pinecone or cob. Get it into all the little cracks!

  4. Roll it in birdseed on a tray or plate. Press gently so the seeds stick.

  5. Hang your bird feeder from a tree branch or a hook outside — somewhere safe for birdies to visit.

  6. Watch and wait! The birds will thank you with chirps and songs.

Turbo’s Tip:

“Don’t eat the peanut butter yourself… even if it smells quacking delicious! Save it for the birdie buffet!”
