“Welcome to another Turbo’s Trash to Treasure Tuesday!
Today we’re taking a humble egg‐carton and turning it
into a beautiful keepsake box — perfect for holding tiny
garden treasures, holiday gifts, or even seed packets.
Let’s upcycle, have fun, and get creative!”

Materials needed:
One cardboard egg carton (clean & dry)
Acrylic paints or water-colour paints in holiday / garden tones (greens, reds, golds, natural browns)
Ribbon or string (for hinge or closure)
Recycled decorations: old beads, buttons, scraps of ribbon, dried flower petals, seed tags
Glue / hot-glue (adult supervision)
Optional: small mirror or foil piece for inside lid for a “jewellery box” feel
Turbo says: ‘Even the bin has gems waiting!’”
Steps:
Cut the egg carton into the desired shape (e.g., keep the lid + base).
Paint the outside and inside in your chosen colours. Let dry.
Create fun decorations: glue on beads/buttons, press in dried petals or seed tags.
Add a ribbon hinge: glue one side of ribbon to base, the other to lid so it opens like a box.
Optional: place small pieces of foil or a tiny mirror inside lid to add sparkle.
Fill with treasures: little garden charms, a note “Hand-made by …”, small seed packet, or a treasure map for family.
Show off! Take a photo of your finished box and label it with something like: “Made with love & reclaimed stuff.”
Turbo’s Tip “Turbo waddles up to say: ‘Even an old carton can sparkle like star-dust if you give it some love.’”
