Duckdom Chronicles

Stories, moments, and happenings from around Duckdom.

Turbo is a small duck with big ideas.
After a little accident and a lot of thinking,

he decided the world could use better rules.
So he created Turbo’s Duckdom.
Everyone is welcome.

WORMY’S WORD OF THE WEEK

Word: Snackergency

Meaning:

A very serious situation that happens when Wormy has been thinking too hard and hasn’t eaten in a while.

Usually fixed with something crunchy or sweet.

Thinking works better with snacks.

MONDAY - AT THE PRESIDENTS OFFICE

President Turbo had an idea.

Kevin took notes.

Wormy smiled.

DUCKDOM BOOK OF THE MONTH

Turbo & the Lost Ducklings

A few tiny ducklings, a worried little quack, and one determined duck
who wouldn’t leave them behind.

With friends, surprises, and a fox who may not be quite what he seems...

Duckdom’s newest adventure is full of kindness, courage, and muddy little footprints.

A VERY SPECIAL DUCKDOM BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to my beautiful grand daughter Willow.

Biggest loves, hugs & sniggles from Turbo, Kevin, Wormy & all the Duckdom Critters.

Kevin asks if he can have the icing off your cake???

KEVIN’S IMPROVEMENTS

Kevin announced he had a “very important safety plan.”

No one was entirely sure what it was...
or why it involved umbrellas, very tall ladders,
and absolutely no instructions.

Still,
he looked extremely proud of himself.

Turbo remains... cautiously concerned.

FRIDAY - At the Village Green

Friday found its way to the Village Green once again,
and Duckdom gathered exactly as it should.

Games were played,
picnic baskets appeared,
and laughter drifted gently through the trees.

Even the ants declared it
“a very successful afternoon.”

.Meet Charley Goat

Charley arrived in Duckdom
with muddy hooves, big ideas,
and absolutely no understanding of personal space.

He means well...

but things do tend to become
a little more chaotic
whenever he appears.

Kind heart, curious mind.

Always up for an adventure.

Wormy’s Word of the Day

Word : Tidy-ish

Meaning :

Mostly tidy,
with a few important things still being used.

Tidy-ish means you can find what you need,
even if not everything is in the right place.

Wormy says:
“If you can find your snack,
it’s tidy enough.”

Pop over to Wormy’s Cubby Hole & have a chat to him, he loves visitors.

MONDAY in Turbo’s President’s Office

President Turbo now has help

Things are moving quickly.
Junior Assistant Administrators have been appointed.

“Sunday afternoon beside the Well.”

“A quiet Sunday where everyone simply stayed awhile.”

The Duckdom Bulletin – Vol. 1, No. 8

Duckdom Bulletin #8 has arrived,

 This week in Duckdom:
* Gary quietly joins the walk
* Wormy helps important words stay in place
* The ants enjoy a well-earned “Dorm-Ant” rest
* Kevin attempts advanced pond techniques
* And something new has appeared in the village…

'The Duckdom Notice Board.'

As always, there are small mysteries, soft conversations, and tiny details waiting to be discovered.

D.Bulletin #8 pics (4).png

SATURDAY - Kevin Tries Diving

He climbs somewhere slightly too high.
Announces:

“Observe!”

Then performs an enormously dramatic leap into approximately four inches of water while Turbo

sighs quietly in the background

DUCKDOM FRIDAY

Nothing particularly important happened in Duckdom today.

Which everyone agreed was excellent.

Kevin practiced “advanced pond techniques”
Gary arrived carrying far too many things
Rusty helped organise the picnic blankets
And Purr attended from a safe observational distance

The ants declared it a very successful day off.

Mostly because nobody dropped paperwork into the river.

Some days in Duckdom are not for rushing.

They are for sunshine, small snacks, soft conversations,
and sitting quietly beside people you like

D.Bulletin #8 pics (3).png

Meet Gary the Goose

D.Bulletin #8 pics (2).png

He likes being included.

Gary wanders gently through Duckdom.
Usually carrying something.

Sometimes it is sandwiches. Sometimes books.
Sometimes things that belong to other people.

Nobody is entirely sure how Gary
collects so many objects during the day,
but he seems very pleased about it.

Gary doesn’t always understand the plans. Or the lists.

Or why Kevin suddenly needs seventeen pieces of paper.

But he likes helping. And he likes company.

You’ll often find Gary
quietly following along behind the others,
happy simply to be part of things.

Duckdom feels calmer with Gary nearby.

Even if he occasionally gets lost
on the way to the picnic.

“Slow feet. Happy heart. Always welcome.”

Wormy’s Wednesday’s Wisdom

Word: ‘nib-ble’

Meaning: A very small bite taken very slowly,

so it can be enjoyed properly.

Nib-bles are best eaten when you are calm,

happy, and not in a rush.

Wormy says:

“Big snacks are exciting.

Nib-bles are important.”

D.Bulletin #8 pics (2).png
Ant Stock Pics.png

‘Dorm-Ant’

When ants are having a well-earned rest,
usually on a quiet day like Sunday.

Dorm-ant happens after:

  • a lot of carrying

  • a lot of sorting

  • and a lot of good work

Wormy says:
“Rest is part of the job.”

D.Bulletin #8 pics .png

MONDAY - Work is being done!!!

President Turbo is in the Duckdom office.

Progress is being made.

Spelling is a work in progress.

SUNDAY — GARY JOINS THE WALK

Nobody was entirely sure when Gary had joined the group.

One moment the path was quiet…

and the next, there he was.

Walking along quite happily,
slightly behind everyone else,
carrying absolutely nothing important.

Gary didn’t always understand the plans.
Or the lists.
Or why Kevin suddenly needed seventeen pieces of paper.

But he liked being included.

And somehow…

Duckdom liked that too.

‘Ant-lers’

A group of ants whose job is to carry away naughty letters

and take them somewhere safe for sorting.

mixed up, or behave badly.

SATURDAY — Kevin’s Improvements

By Saturday…
Kevin had been very busy.

Things were organised.

Whether they were better…
was still being discussed.

FRIDAY — DUCKDOM’S DAY OFF

Not much happened today.

The papers were left where they had fallen…
the lists quietly rested…
and even the planning… paused for a while.

A few wandered.
A few sat.

And somewhere…
something very fine
was being carefully put into place.

No one mentioned it.

But by the end of the day…
things felt just a little more connected.

Duckdom's Notice Board

Something new has appeared in Duckdom…

A place for notes, notices…

and things that might matter later.

If you’re passing by…

you may want to stop and take a look.

WEDNESDAY — Wormy’s place (Keeper of the Good Stuff)

While plans were being made…
and papers carefully stacked…
Wormy was already at work.

He didn’t organise things.
He looked after what mattered.

Quietly. Kindly. Constantly.

Duckdom would come to depend on this…
long before it realised.

Rusty Intro Pic (2).png

Meet Rusty

Rusty is a little shy… but very happy to be part of Duckdom.

He’s gentle, thoughtful, and notices the little things others sometimes miss.

While Kevin is usually bouncing through the village causing excitement, Rusty is often quietly helping behind the scenes.

He likes tidy things, peaceful walks, old signposts, and small acts of kindness.

He may not always speak first…
but when he does, everyone listens

Welcome to Duckdom, Rusty

MONDAY — While things were being organised

Some ideas need planning.

Kevin was very good at that.

The lists grew longer…
the piles grew higher…
and things began to feel… important.

Whether they were… was still to be seen.

Duckdom Bulletin #5,#6,#7 Pics.png
Duckdom Feb 26 (1).png

SUNDAY — Before it all began

Before the plans were written…
before the paths were properly made…
there was just a walk.

Not towards anything in particular…
just forward.

And somehow… that was enough.

SATURDAY — KEVIN “HELPS”

By Saturday…
Kevin had been helping.

Things were different now.

Not wrong… exactly…
just… not quite how they had been before.

FRIDAY — DUCKDOM’S DAY OFF

Nothing needed doing today.

The tools were set down,
the paths left as they were,
and even the signpost… was left alone.

On the green,
a few wandered, a few rested,
and a few simply watched the clouds pass by.

No plans were made.
No improvements attempted.

And somehow…
everything felt just right.

“Notes from the Ant Hill”

Where there are words…

there are also those who care for them.

The ants of Duckdom are small…

but their work is very important.

WEDNESDAY — WORMY’S  WISDOM

From Wormy’s Book of Words

Not all words in Duckdom are found in ordinary dictionaries.

Some are kept… quietly… in Wormy’s care.

From time to time, he shares one.

“There are words in Duckdom… and they mean more than they seem.”

Wormy closed his book… just a little.

Duckdom Bulletin #5,#6 Pics (1).png
Wormy Intro pic.png

Meet Wormy

He keeps the words… and what they mean.

Monday began with a discovery.

Kevin found something…
quite extraordinary.

He wasn’t entirely sure what it was—
but he was certain it needed his full attention.

SUNDAY — A SIMPLE MOMENT

No plans were made today…
just something simple, shared between friends.

A sandwich, an apple,
and a moment that didn’t need to be anything more.

Sometimes… that’s enough.

Saturday in Duckdom…and Kevin is helping

A thick morning fog has settled over the village today, wrapping the cottages in a soft, quiet hush.

Kevin, of course, has taken this as an opportunity.

Determined to be useful, he has spent the early hours “improving” the signpost—

ensuring that everything is now… perfectly clear.

Turbo is not entirely convinced.

Wormy has said nothing (which usually means everything).

Somewhere in the mist, a path leads exactly where it should…

though it may take a moment to find it.

Friday in Duckdom…

The wind didn’t rush today. It wandered.

Just enough to lift a kite,
just enough to carry it…
without ever pulling too hard.

Out on the Village Green,
strings were held loosely,
laughter came and went,
and no one tried to fly too high.

Some kites drifted. Some dipped.
Some simply stayed where they were.

And that was enough.

Meet Kevin: Duckdom’s Cheerful Chaos Coordinator

Some mornings in Duckdom begin quietly.

Others… begin with Kevin.

No one is ever quite sure where he’s come from or what he’s doing—but he always arrives with enthusiasm, wide eyes, and a plan that may or may not make sense (yet).

Kevin doesn’t walk through Duckdom… he explores it.
Every stone is worth turning. Every path is worth following. Every idea—no matter how unlikely—is worth trying.

He asks questions. A lot of them.
He makes plans. Brilliant ones.
And then… he changes those plans. Often.

Some say Kevin causes a bit of mayhem.

Kevin prefers to think he creates possibilities.

And perhaps… he’s not wrong.

Because somehow, between the unexpected turns and curious detours, Kevin finds things others might miss—little moments, hidden paths, and discoveries that quietly become part of Duckdom’s story.

You’ll often find him near the edge of something new…
halfway into an idea…
or just about to try something he probably shouldn’t.

But that’s Kevin.

Curious. Enthusiastic. Entirely unstoppable.

And Duckdom wouldn’t be the same without him.

Not even close.

Kevin’s Motto:
Why walk carefully when you can explore properly?

Kevin Intro pic.png

Wormy’s Wednesday Wisdom

By midweek, things slowed once more.

Wormy shared a quiet thought beneath the trees,
reminding those who listened that not everything needs rushing.

Some things grow best when given time…
and some moments are meant simply to be noticed.

And for a little while,
Duckdom paused to listen.

Duckdom Feb 26 A4 Landscape.png
Turbo Intro pic.png

Turbo
He makes sure the day begins.

Turbo is the quiet centre of Duckdom.

He doesn’t rush… and he doesn’t need to.
Somehow, things seem to begin when he’s ready.

You’ll often find him standing still before the day properly starts…
as if he’s listening for something the rest of us haven’t quite heard yet.

He doesn’t lead loudly.

But everyone seems to follow, all the same.

Grandma’s Pie Day in Duckdom

The bunting was still hanging,
the paint was still drying…
and a few things were not quite where they belonged.

But by mid-morning, a different kind of work had begun.

From the kitchen window, warm light spilled out onto the path,
and the gentle sound of something baking drifted through the village.

Grandma was already at it.

Flour on the bench,
apples sliced just so,
and a pie that didn’t need to be perfect… just shared.

One by one, things found their place again.

And somehow…
so did everyone else.

Sunday in Duckdom…

No plans were made,
no clocks were watched…
and no one seemed to mind.

Turbo stood where the path meets the green,
Kevin had already found something interesting (and possibly unnecessary),
and Wormy… well… Wormy was simply there, as he always is.

Some days don’t ask for much.
Just a little sunshine, a little company, and a place to be.

Duckdom was quiet today…
but not empty.

Something Kevin Noticed…

Kevin had been watching things closely all week.

The market, the gatherings,
the way everyone seemed to come together without trying too hard…

But then—

Kevin found something else.

A splash of colour.
A brush.
And an idea.

(Not entirely a good one.)

Kevin Paint #1.png

…and What Happened Next

It didn’t take long.

By the time anyone noticed,
Kevin was standing very still…

surrounded by paint,
and what looked like a very enthusiastic interpretation of “helping.”

Turbo noticed, of course.

He usually does.

And Duckdom…
adjusted, as it always does.

Friday — Where Duckdom Goes

By Friday, the work of the week had softened,
and the village found its way to the water’s edge.

Blankets were laid out, baskets opened,
and the afternoon drifted by with laughter and shared stories.

There was no plan…
only the simple joy of gathering together.

And somehow, that was more than enough.

Duckdom Bulletin Pics.png

Wormy’s Wednesday Wisdom

Duckdom Bulletin Pics (1).png

By Wednesday, Duckdom had settled into a quieter rhythm.

The work of Monday had softened,
and the village seemed to pause, just long enough to listen.

Wormy was already in his usual place,
sharing a few gentle thoughts with anyone who wandered by.

He says that not everything needs to happen all at once…
that some things take time to grow,
and that waiting is not the same as standing still.

And for a little while,
Duckdom simply sat beneath the trees…
and listened.

Monday — Market at the Village Green

By Monday, the village stirred with purpose once more.

Stalls appeared along the Green,
baskets filled, and the air carried the scent of something warm and freshly made.

There was much to do, of course…
but just as much to enjoy along the way.

And somewhere between the bustle and the chatter,
Duckdom found its rhythm again.

A Quiet Sunday in Duckdom

This week began gently.

No plans were made,
no great tasks set out…
just time spent together beneath the trees,
where laughter came easily and the world felt unhurried.

Sometimes, Duckdom reminds itself
that being together is more than enough.

Saturday — Kevin Had Other Ideas

By Saturday, things in Duckdom had begun to feel a little… unpredictable.

The paths were not quite where they had been,
the signs seemed to point in slightly unusual directions,
and somewhere along the way… Kevin had been involved.

No one was entirely sure what he had done.
But it was clear that something had changed.

Turbo noticed, of course.
He usually does.

And as the day unfolded,
Duckdom found itself gently adjusting…
to whatever Kevin had set in motion.

Friday — Duckdom’s Day Off

Duckdom Bulletin Pics (1).png

By Friday, the work of the week had quietly settled,
and Duckdom found its way to the Village Green.

Blankets were laid out, games began,
and laughter carried easily through the afternoon air.

There was no great plan for the day…
only the simple joy of being together,
with time to wander, play, and enjoy the little things.

And for a while,
everything felt light again.

Wormy's Wednesdays Wisdom

“Blossoms do not rush.

They open when the time is right.

Plant the seed… then trust the growing.”

Monday — The Day Things Get Put Right

Monday arrived, and Duckdom began to stir again.

There were little things to tend to…
a fence slightly leaning,
a path needing a careful sweep,
and a few bits and pieces that simply needed setting right.

Turbo was already busy, of course.
He says it’s the small jobs that keep everything running smoothly…
even the ones no one else notices.

And as the morning carried on,
Duckdom quietly found its rhythm again.
